What technology from Star Trek would you rather have?

Replicator - that's a no brainer.



"Computer: make me a Ferrari 308 GTB, red with a tan leather interior."



Hey, free car, instantly.



"Scotty, beam me to Target, I need to buy some new socks."



Remember in the first Star Trek movie when the transporter screwed up and merged two people, then the twisted, brundlefly life form that materialized lived for about a minute before dying? Yeah, bump that action.



Personally, my Star Trek tech wish is far more modest: I jus want that cool collapsing sword that Sulu had in the latest Star Trek movie. that thing was awesome.

btw all food that comes from a replicator is molecularily altered to be healthy so you could eat an entire cheesecake every day for the rest of your life and never get fat



also i could just tell the replicator to replicate me specs for a transporter and the parts needed to build it and then i would have both and a phaser as well perhaps even build my own holideck

Not only could I get places faster, but I could get to food just about as quickly as I could with a replicator.

Out of those two, I'd prefer a replicator, because I'm too lazy to cook, and matter transference can potentially result in accidents.



But really, I'd much rather have a holodeck, for obvious reasons.

I'd definitely go for Transporter. To be anywhere instantly, without any hassle. Managing time would barely be an issue anymore! And if you're grounded or have a time line, it'll hardly matter because you won't have to take the time of driving back home into consideration or anything. And you could be anywhere at anytime and be back before anyone noticed! It would be awesome!
