I'm thinking......are you good at fashions? What about the evolution of clothing? Why did women wear corsets in the 20's and beyond. Why was the Nauru collar a dud fashion in America...Why do men still wear ties? ( you could write a book on that alone) Why clogs, why see-through dress's in the 60s, go-go boots, mini skirts....wow! a million different fasts and opportunities and lots and lots of pictures on the web. Even throw in some early photos of fashions from your folks family album, grand parents. THE EVOLUTION OF FASHION...right up your alley...right. Let me know how it turned out.. You're looking at an A+ here.

There is a lot of debate right now about Dan Brown's book "The Da Vinci Code". If you want to do something interesting and impress the teacher do a project that takes a side showing that the book is just what it is called, a novel. Show how it is incorrect and show how it could easily "trick" the public that what is contained in it could be mistaken by individuals that do not read their bibles.

If you choose something like this Two books that might help you are "tThe Da Vinci Deception" by Erwin W. Lutzer and "The Da Vinci Code Breaker" by James L. Garlow et.

I hope this helps. Peace in the Lord.

Hey whats up I attend a catholic private school myslef. I can't believe you can do it on anything. If that is so then you can choose a wide arrange of topics such as ur favorite actor or animal. I remeber doing my project on an animal that I though was intersting and that would be interssting to the class. I even showed a movie on it with crocodile hunter in it. This will be laughs, and creativity. Make it fun and intersting. I assure you ull get a high grade. Peace!

How to build a coat rack!

Everyone needs a place to hang his or her hat ' and coat. This project is so easy, you'll want to make more than one.

Steps:

1. Cut one end of a 6-foot decorative porch post so that the squared part is 5 inches long - this will be the top of your coatrack.

2. Cut the other end so that the coatrack is the height you want it to be when finished.

3. Sand the entire post, filling any cracks with wood putty.

4. For the stand on the bottom, cut four 6-1/2-inch pieces of trim from a piece of 1-by-3 pine board.

5. Glue one piece of trim flat on each side of the bottom of the coatrack. They should be vertical, and the bottoms should be flush with the bottom of the pole.

6. Hold a 6-1/4-inch-by-8-1/2-inch gingerbread bracket over one of the trim pieces, with the longer side sticking out. Again, it should be flush with the bottom of the pole.

7. Apply a liberal layer of glue to the bracket and stick it to the trim. Screw in three or four 1-1/2-inch-long wood screws to give it extra holding power.

8. Attach the other gingerbread brackets the same way to the remaining sides of the bottom of the pole.

9. Cut a 1-by-4 pine board into two 10-inch pieces and one 24-inch piece. These are the feet.

10. Lay the post so that it's on its side and apply glue to the bottoms of opposite brackets.

11. Center the 24-inch foot piece across the bottom of the post and the glued brackets.

12. Drive through a 1-1/2-inch wood screw at the center and every few inches out from it.

13. Apply glue to the bottoms of the other two brackets and attach the 10-inch feet the same way.

14. Center a wooden fence-post finial on the top of the post and screw it in.

15. Paint or stain and allow it to dry completely.

16. Fasten a metal coat hook to each flat side at the top of your new coatrack.

Tips:

Give the coatrack a nice shine by applying a final coat of clear polyurethane before attaching the hooks.

How about coming up with a PowerPoint on the changes that have taken place in the Catholic church since the new Pope has taken charge? There's bound to be 9 to 10 changes that are significant enough to mention. Best wishes.

This may sound corny, but why don't you do it on something that interests you? Maybe you want to travel the world when you get older.... so why not do a project on places you'd like to visit? Or maybe you're interested in astronomy... do a slide show with the constellations. Those are just a few ideas. It's up to you if you'd like to use them though.

If you're after the grade and pleasing your teachers (since I think you already know what they are expecting), just give them what they want. Have something like a movie review of the Lord of the Rings and it's relevance to the Catholic faith. What catholic wouldn't like LoR!

Try "Bible Vixens" create a presentation that talks about the negative images of Eve, Deliah and other female figures in the bible (which was written of course by men and includes on ly one book by a female, Ruth).

Then at the end you can find modern celebrities who are similar to the ladies in the stories and discuss how they perpetuate the evil woman myth.

Carry an American flag and ask people in a public place if they would tell you how they came to America and what they like best about it in one paragraph. Then take a digital picture of them with the flag and write their copy craetively on their picture. Choose a diverse crowd of people. Could do the same with baseball, flowers etc.

Teachers will love it.

You could make a dessert that is typical to either your ethnic background or your local area, and in the slide slow show, step-by-step, how that dessert is made. Then, at the end of the show, serve everyone a sample of the dessert! Everyone like sugar!

Discuss the trends and fads during the 1920s in America. There's lots of information and pics about the cars, dress, movie stars, events (such as Lindbergh's solo transatlantic flight), sports heroes (such as Babe Ruth), crazes, social changes (prohibition).

why don't you do it on a social cause.

Like teens on drugs, or the homeless?

Pictures of abused women and statistics on it happenning across the nation.

Do it on..

Pollution, or anything you feel strongly about.

I am doing one on homelessness.

first few slides on the need, showing the faces of the homeless.

Then a couple on stats...

Who are homeless?

What is the wage necessary to have housing, as a percentage of income.

Finally,

What we could do about it.

Hope this helps.

Use a excellent template in your PowerPoint presentation. Not the ones which everybody uses. By doing this it will help you stand out in the crowd and more people will remember your stuff because most of us are visual learners.

My suggestion is: Your favorite things in life.

For example you show a pic on an ocean, on a sunny day--just you and your family on a beach--fav. vacation--don't forget details on vac--why its yr fav etc.

Then you show a pic on a bowl of rocky road ice cream--etc

I know my examples aren't that great--but just think everyone would get to know you better--and it would be about something you are comfortable about--maybe even tie it into some business or future plans see??

Do a project on somethin that no one would think of like a small country, like Sri Lanka. Do a bunch of different categories, like Sports(cricket), Foods(curry), Natural Disasters(tsunami), and even things like history. You could also do one on a president with like obscure facts about his life. Do not do FDR I did him and he is really hard to write about.

A hot topic of conversation in America today is illegal aliens. Help your classmates understand the dilema and why this is such a political and social hot potato.
