?

A few days ago my high school English teacher assigned the class to get three books, each of which will have a book report due. There is a book that we are due to have by Sept. 3rd (tommorow) (and will be read first) and we will be reading them at school and expected to read them at home. She said that as we read, we need to take notes as we go to use them for the book report when we're done. What are some good tips for writing notes as I read?

I looked it up on Google and I've read some really good tips on wikihow, but I'd like some more tips. This is my first book report and this is my senior year of high school, I want to get a good grade on it.

I've already got a journal that I will be using to take the book notes in, and the tips I got from wikihow, can anyone else can give some more good tips?

Please and thank you~! :)

only write important details Like the important characters their names are they good? are they bad? what are they like? understand who they are and list that down. Notes don't and shouldn't be in complete sentences because you only write what is necessary. Writing the important details will help you write the book report because you will remember what the book was about and the important events that occurred. Figure out the setting of the story and such, remember when you write the report you muuuuussst ALWAYS be SPECIFIC. That is the difference between an A and a C if you just say the cat walked across the street and got hit by a car. That is the main idea, but thats not at all specific. If you say "The brown furred huge cat was walking down the sidewalk on a muggy hot afternoon when it crossed the road, the cracks and bumps scratching it's soft paws when suddenly a car came down the road, the musky brown truck racing down the street carelessly slamming into the cat. The cat lying their staggering twitching and in deep pain, it was slowly dying.,,,,,, There is a huge difference so be specific.......... That is key!
