How do I write a 300 word composition perfectly?

Well I have tried writing a 3 paragraph expository essay (intro, body and conclusion) but I always get a low mark. Since it is an one hour write, I don't have time for a 5 paragraph essay. Someone tried a long story but even though he had a high mark to begin with, his mark got reduced because it was too long. How do I write a 300 word composition expository or even narrative style? Should I just go for a 5-paragraph essay? How many paragraphs do I need and what kind? If the number of paragraphs is not the problem, what else should I look for?

Sometimes students start out doing really good but lose the readers interest in the middle-which means it gets boring. Here's a tip first off your not going to do one perfectly-but you can improve!

You got the right idea, but reach out and grab the reader, know what your talking and writing about. Read it back to yourself, your sure to catch a mistake you made and last conclude the essay by ending it with what you started out with-

(Example) If i was writing about the next shuttle mission my intro might look like this- The space shuttle is now on its last 3 missions before retiring. After 900 missions and 600 satellite's in space the Discovery will take off from Florida for its mission to fix a bulb burn out on the space station Mir-bla,bla,bla-

conclusion (NASA hopes that in the future they'll have just as many missions as with Discovery and hopes that each one is a success.)
