Question:
Tips on making a paper longer?

This is what I have so far...
Tip 1: Period Change

-Go to Edit: Replace all
-put a period in both blanks
-change the second period to a larger font(14 is good)

Tip 2: Margins

-squeeze the margins in a little

Tip 3: Spacing

-extend space in between characters

Tip 4: Font

-use font: MS Reference Sans Serif or Verdana

The period change one suprisingly works really well...

Does anyone else have any other tips?

Ha, I like the period change one - I'd never thought of that.

Unfortunately, these won't work once you get to college or, for that matter, any class where they give you set requirements on the margins and font type and size.

The best way is to write an intro that is at least (now this is on a five page paper - it shouldn't be as long if the paper is shorter) half or three quarters of a page long... get really creative. The conclusion should be the same length... for everything in-between, provide multitudes of examples, i.e., like the time when I had to write a psych paper on dream interpretation, and listed different types of dreams that people have, and when I was comparing and contrasting Freudian views with the activation synthesis theory, I talked about dreams that could not possibly have occurred as a result of activation synthesis, and described them in great detail.

See? =) The trick should be in the writing, not in spacing and such. It's an acquired talent. You have to make sure that it's not too ramble-y... it works quite well, actually, and will do wonders for your papers if you learn how to do it right =)

And if you're absolutely stuck, make sure you put two spaces between each sentence, rather than one...

Easy. State reasons WHY each recommendation is being made. - ie sans serif font easier to read & 14 point type allows for readers with vision limitations...etc..etc

If u hav 1 sentece that has a comma try replaceing it with a period and starting out the next sentence. You can also add ur name, date, class etc at top of page.

I would take points off for such sneaky tricks. The teacher is looking for good writing, not stretching techniques. Add information.

Yes your technique is so terrible that it's obvious you aren't trying to create or learn, so--Just go ahead and plagiarize someone elses work at least you might absorb something illuminating for your brain! Your going to fail anyway so give it your worst.

Think more about your topic. Reread what you wrote and expand on your ideas. Build.

Find larger synonyms for small words. For example:

I like it. OR I found that quite enjoyable and interesting.

(Make sure you understand the meaning of the words you use though.)

Add more elaboration/support in your paper.

3" margins on all sides

36 pt. type (all caps)

quadruple space

That oughta do it.
