i need to write a short paragraph about my birthday. it is a letter to a friend explaining:
-three presents that you RECEIVED.
-three things that you ATE.
-two things that you DRANK.
-three activities that you DID.
-the clothes that you WORE.
-two items you BOUGHT with your birthday money.
i have to also use the PERFECT TENSE.

It should be: 'mes parents m'ont offert....'

Otherwise you've made a good start. I ate = j'ai mangé, I drank =j'ai bu, I wore (I put on)= j'ai mis, I bought = j'ai acheté, and for what you did you can use verbs like : J'ai dansé, j'ai écouté, j'ai parlé etc. A helpful tip is to compose the basic part of the sentence first (e.g. J'ai mis une robe) and then add details to extend it (e.g. A huit heures, dans ma chambre, j'ai mis ma nouvelle robe bleue parce que c'est très jolie.) So I saw the last guy's answer and decided to just correct his mistakes because overall it wasn't too bad. It pretty much translates to the same thing he wrote, I just corrected some of the verbs and used words that the French are more apt to use.

Hier était mon anniversaire ! Maintenant j’ai 21 ans. J'ai reçu beaucoup de cadeaux ! Mes parents m’ont offert une télévision pour ma chambre. J'ai aussi reçu des DVD pour ma nouvelle télévision et un lecteur DVD pour les films ! Après ça, j'avais obtenu mes cadeaux j'ai pris de la gâteau, de la crème glacée et du lait pour boire. Et puis, nous avons joué chaises musicales et nous avons heurté une pinata. Après j’avais si soif que j'aie bu un verre de l'eau. J'ai renversé l'eau sur mon chemisier rouge et jeans et j’ai dû les lavés. Et puis, après la fête, je suis allée au centre commercial avec mes amis et nous avons acheté une pizza et nous avons vu un film avec de l'argent d'anniversaire que j'ai reçu.
