if your solving for zero, then what i did was to multiply both sides by x. Once you do that it should equal 5=x(x-4). Then distribute and you get 5=x^2-4x. Subtract the 5 over and then factor. should be something like x^2-4x-5=0. I got (x+1)(x-5)=0

You have to multiply both sides by x.

So then 5 = x^2 - 4x

Or. x^2 - 4x - 5 = 0

x = -1 and x= 5
