Alicia Silverstone

Alicia Silverstone was born in San Francisco, California on October 4, 1976. She first gained fame when she appeared in a series of music videos for the rock band Aerosmith. She went on to star in "Clueless" and other movies.
Alicia has been a vegetarian since 1998 and in 2004 she was voted PETA's "Sexiest Female Vegetarian." She notes that her love of animals led her to vegetarianism initially but she soon realized that it was great for her looks and her health. Alicia uses every opportunity to encourage people to try vegetarianism. Married since 1995, Alicia lives in an eco-friendly home in Los Angeles with her husband and a pack of rescued dogs.
Betty White

Betty Marion White was born on January 17, 1922 in Oak Park Illinois and has been an animal-lover since birth. She reports that although she was an only child, her home was always filled with animals.
An award-winning stage, movie, and television actress, Betty is best known for her roles on "The Mary Tyler Moore Show" and "The Golden Girls." She has used her celebrity to advance the cause of animal rights and is an active member of many charitable organizations. Together with her "Golden Girl" cast mates Rue McClanahan and Bea Arthur, Betty starred in one of PETA's Fur Is Dead commercials. Betty turned down a role in "As Good As It Gets" because of a scene in which a small dog is tossed down a garbage chute.
About his wife's love for animals, her late husband Allen Ludden once said that "television is her hobby and the Los Angeles Zoo animals her work."
Bob Barker

Robert William "Bob" Barker was born on December 12, 1923 in Darrington, Washington. He spent most of his childhood on the Rosebud Indian Reservation in South Dakota. Always an animal lover, Bob reports that when his mother needed to find him as a child, she could just look for the pack of dogs; Bob would be in their midst.
Bob is best known for his role hosting the long-running game show, "The Price Is Right." He began hosting on September 4, 1972 and, until his last show on June 15, 2007, he ended his shows by urging viewers to have their cats and dogs spayed. He ended the show's practice of offering fur coats and live animals as prizes years ago. He also convinced the Miss Universe Pageant to ban the use of fur when he hosted in 1987.
Bob became a vegetarian in 1979 and will not wear anything made of leather. He credits his mother and his late-wife with his strong convictions. Bob created the DJ and T Foundation in 1994 to fund grants for spaying and neutering clinics.
Daryl Hannah

Daryl Hannah was born on December 3, 1960 in Chicago, Illinois. She became interested in movies as a young child because she suffered from insomnia. She became a vegetarian at the age of eleven. She is perhaps best known for her role as the mermaid in "Splash." An ardent environmentalist, Daryl has a weekly video blog on sustainable solutions. Her home runs on solar power and is built with green materials. She drives a car powered by biodiesel. Daryl has been arrested for environmentally-motivated protests and believes strongly that everything is interconnected: being a humanitarian, and supporting animal rights activists and human rights activists.
Ed Begley, Jr.

Edward Begley, Jr. was born on September 16, 1949 in Los Angeles, California. He followed in the footsteps of his Academy-award winning father and has acted on television, in movies, and in the theater.
A passionate crusader for our environment and all living creatures, Ed often rides his bicycle to Hollywood events. He lives near Los Angeles in a self-sufficient home powered by solar energy. He is a leading member of many of the biggest conservancy groups and has produced an environmentally-friendly household cleaner called Begley's Best, from which all profits go to charity.
Heather Mills

Heather Mills was born on January 12, 1968 in Aldershot, Hampshire, England. Although she is perhaps best known now as the ex-wife of Beatle Paul McCartney, Heather started modeling as a young woman. In 1990 she moved to Slovenia and witnessed the brutal civil war there. She then modeled to raise money for victims of the war. In 1993, while in London, she was struck by a police motorcycle and lost her left leg from the knee down. This spurred Heather to activism and she raised money for war refugees, amputees, and victims of land mines everywhere.
Heather is an activist for vegetarianism, animal rights, and against land mines. She is the Goodwill Ambassador for the United Nations Association of the USA. She has campaigned against the annual seal hunt in Canada and the trade in dog fur. She is a patron of Viva!, Britains leading vegetarian, vegan, and animal rights organization. Heather has appeared in PETA ads denouncing fur.
