If all an individual has known is poverty, how do they escape it? Poverty is far from new. Poverty has been around since the beginning of man-kind, and most likely will still be around thousands of years from now. Over time the world has changed, and so has the definition of poverty. The way poverty is defined varies by location, time, and audience. In order to effectively define anything, there must be something to compare to. If everyone in the world lived in poverty, we wouldn’t call it poverty, we would call it life.
Poverty is only having enough resources to survive. What you need to survive in one place is not necessarily essential to survive in another area, or time.
