Help please? Focusing while doing homework?!?

Here are my grades currently, I'm a freshman in high school.
Pre-AP English- C-
Pre-AP Bio/Chem- A
Accelerated Geometry-B
Intro to Engineering-A
Health- A
Graphic Design- A
Pottery- A

As you can see, some of my grades are kind of low... what can i do? i always get distracted when doing homework because I have a laptop and wi-fi so i find myself on the internet ALL THE TIME!
Please help, what can i do to bring up my grades and stay focused?!

You are doing great in most of your classes. If you get distracted, then put away your laptop (unless you need it for homework). Ask your mom to put it away during homework time and bring it back out when you are finished.



Or just think about how you want to bring some of your grades up. That will keep you motivated. I know that it can be hard to be focused on work when you are a click away from the internet, but do your best. :)

The best advice I can give (I've written 3 novels from beginning to end, I write a weekly advice column for a newspaper, and I write a blog for writers), is BICHOK. That stands for "Butt In Chair, Hands On Keyboard"! The only way to be a writer is to actually write! Forget about finding a quiet place or tuning out distractions. There will never be the perfect opportunity to write. You just have to do it anyway. Set a mini goal for yourself, like "I will write just one page today". Then do it. If you wrote just one page a day, you'll finish your book in a year. And here's a secret - most days, when you sit down to write one page, you'll find yourself writing more than one page. The hardest part is just getting started each writing session. That's why so many people talk about writing a book "some day" but they don't actually do it! My blog for writers is called "The Writer's Challenge" because I challenge writers to write 1000 words a day, every day (that's about 4 manuscript pages). Good luck!

believe it or not i cant focus on my homework without my earphones blasting! it keeps my focused because if i listen to my fav songs i kno their words obh so i can be doing something intresting and my homework with the least distractive value!

dont open up the internet- take off the modem if you are desperate. in the old days my mum took out my phone radio and tv etc till i got my hoemwrk done- it was motivation to get the job done before my fav shows

You could do your homework at the library, you do know you can turn these devices off. I hear that works pretty well. When my son's grades started slipping, I took all his power cords away.
