If you are writing a research paper and have to number the pages, do you count the title page in it, so when you start with the body, do you count the 1st page of your paper as #2? Or do you omit the title page from the count and start with #1?

The 1st page of text is #1. Title page, table of contents, preface,

etc., if present and numbered at all, are numbered with lower case

Roman numerals (i, ii, iii, iv...).

No, those pages -the Title page, the Abstract page, and the references page do not count when using APA Style ... as such, you need to have 15 pages besides those three pages (total of 18).. And remember the Abstract page is limited to 12-150 words and the text is left-justified ... that is, no indents on the Abstract page. Good luck!

Omit the title page from the count and start with #1.

start numbering your pages after the title page, and dont count the title page out of the total. Just got grilled on that one today in class.
