I have to do a book report and at first, my teacher said to read and take notes on the book.
I took sticky notes and wrote quick notes on the pages i read and stuck the notes to the pages.
Then my teacher gave us a rubric and it said to read and annotate the book. Is what I'm doing right? or should I be doing something else?

I don't own the book, so i can't write in the margins or anything like that...

Well i highly recommend going out and buying the book because it helps to be able to look back and find answers quick. As for annotating itself, your supposed to write how you are feeling when reading the book but annotating is not only writing it is also underlining circling and defining words you don't know. Your supposed to underline/circle the important sentences in the book and should probably have a fair amount per pages. - that's why i recommend getting the book because without your are unable to do that.

sentence ex. Slowly Jameson and Miles rode their bike towards the sunset and faded away into the distance, just as my memory has faded throughout my years.

annotation ex: This line from the paragraph (underline the line/put the stick note below this line) makes me remember the good ole' times with my friends when i was younger and how those memories as the authors has faded which is saddening but its part of life i suppose.

Hopefully this helps.

Err - they want you to write some main points and thoughts on the things in the book, kind of like a book report, but more academic summary..

Whatever you can wish or have to be competent to uncover later. For instance, it possibly the reply to one in all your questions for sophistication, whatever you wish to cite for your essay…or simply whatever you wish to recollect for your self, like a memorable quote.
