First, you'd have to find the common denominator. Which would be 5/10 8/10. Then, you leave the denominator (10) the same, and add the numerators, (5 8) to get 13. So, your answer is 13/10. You can then make it a mixed number, 1 and 3/10, or leave it as is. Hope this helps. :)

Find a common denominator to add or subtract fractions. 1/2 is the same as 5/10 and 4/5 is the same as 8/10. So 5/10 + 8/10 = 13/10 = 1 3/10

its easyy

so see how the denominator is different so we need to find the LCD (Lowest common denminator.

so it would be 10 since 2 goes into 10 5 times and 5 goes into 10 2 times.

so we can put the 10 as the denominator

and so the number of their respective faction would be changed too

1/2+4/5

1*5/10 4*2/10

so see how i multiplied 1 times 5 because 2 times 5 is 10

and similarly 4 times 2 because 5 times 2 is 10

so the answer would be

5/10+8/10

and see how the denominator is same now, so we can add the fractions

13/10 <--is ur answer in lowest terms.
