Esperanza Rising is about a rich Mexican girl who loses her father, her house, and all her money in a single night. Threatened by her step-uncle, she and her mother flee to the United States with their previous servants. There, Esperanza learns to take responsibility and becomes the head of her family when her mom is ill with a deadly virus. In the end, Esperanza finally achieves her goal of bringing her grandmother to the U.S. with the help of her friend, Miguel.

Esperanza Rising is Spanish for Hope Rising.

Well Esperanza is a very wealthy 13 year old girl, she is the daughter of a very kind man. Esperanza world is turned upside down when her father was shoot by bandits .But then her uncle tio luios wanted to marry her mother she refused he theartened them he will make their lifes horrible. He burned their house . Their grandma sad l was still in the fire so somebody ran in and saved her. they only had one opinion left to move far far away and become a farm worker. Everything was doing good until there was a big dust storm , the truck that was supposed to come to pick the workers up but it never did so they had to wit till the storm was over .They all survived but mama has a bad bad, bad cough. Mama started to get sick with a valley fever is very bad. Mama became very sick, Esperanza had to get a job. struggling to pay the bills there was a bad violent strike.

well i agree but make sure to add that the mothers virus was called valley fever and the part when miguel kept on going on and off the train he was doing that so when they get to calofornia he will show esperanza the flowers that he dug up from her fathers garden
