Im not motivated at all! plus I have math homework everyday -__-''
Sad part is I just keep putting it off and eventually end up not doing it, which causes me to get low scores.

Get of Y!A xD

no.. but seriously..

1. shut down your computer

2. sit on it

3. make shure you have a clear desk space

4. NO DISTRACTIONS

5. close the door

6. do your homework

7. END

Think about the future = how insignificant the activities you do while NOT doing your homework seems compared to the significance of what your future will turn out if you do your homework, thus getting better grades.

Do you want to be in a cozy office of your own making lots of money, or be a homeless person on the streets?

The choice is yours.

I think you answered your own question. The longer you put it off the less motivated you will be later in the evening to finish it. I'm about to graduate college and here is how I have approached it:

1. School doesn't end once class ends, I go home but I still try to remain in the school mindset. (So plan on your workday being an extra hour or 2)

2. Keep music playing in the background as you work. If you do it in silence, it can lead to mind wandering.

3. If you have to be moving around while you focus, chew a piece of gum and try to keep your other hand busy on something while you work (twirling a pen or something)

4. Don't be in discomfort, but don't sit somewhere that is too relaxing and will make you tired.

5. Take it in little steps. 30 minutes of hard focus, 15 minute breaks. Before you know it, you'll be done and you can ENJOY your evening without the work hanging over your head.

Also, don't eat any huge meals before you do homework. Reserve the blood in your body for brain power, not for digestion ;)

I used to have the same problem, what I found out is that if I listen to music and have a nice quiet place to do it without any distractions like videogames and TV. Also, try to do it right when you get home, because if you don't do it then your likely to never get it done because dinner, parents, good TV shows and much more distractions will come later in the evening. Im 15 trust me I know what your going through.

im exactly the same..lol but i always end up cramming then get good grades, idk why but anyways here's what i do..

- I do the homework at school, cuz at school well its already boring >.>"

- if i try to do it at home then id be lazy and have so many distractions..like the pc or tv or psp

-the main reason i have motibvation is... my parents pay me whenever i get good grades O.o" so maybe you can ask your parents to reward you in some way.

-You can give yourself a punsihment if you havent done your homework, example. no tv for 1 day or no anime for 1 week etc etc

-for me i usually just try competing with the tops in my class, they make me wanna crush them >_<" so thats where most of my motivation comes from

- you can try this: find someone who has a higher grade than you by a bit and try to get a higher grade than that person.

^_^" sorry thats all i know..
Hmm...

I haven't tested this out yet, but something that might be good to do is follow this diagram:

3:30 (When most people get home from school): Get a quick snack if your feeling hungry.

3:35: Do most of your homework.

4:00: Take a quick break, maybe check your eMail, if you have a cat or dog, this would be a good time to feed them.

4:15: Do some more homework.

4:30: a 5 minute break, to stretch or whatever.

4:35: back to homework.

If it's not done by now, keep working, taking little breaks every 15 minutes.

Look if any of your parents are strict do the homework. Okay let this sync in your mind, homework stands for like 10% of your grade. This will motivate you see that grade go down that'll motivate you. Oh yeah and is your a jealous person and your friends get a good grade that'll motivate you, especially if you have a friend that brags.

Thats just like me...I do the same thing. Even though I hate it just try to do a little a day and you'll eventually end up doing it all. Or have your parents pay you for good grades or say they'll buy you something nice. That motivated me to get good grades by the end of the year. Your friends could help you as well...unless they're lazy. I hope I helped some! Good luck!

Motivation To Do Homework

I've experienced this, too. I find the best thing to do is decide on a certain time of day that will always be reserved for homework, like right after you get home from school, or right after dinner, for instance. Don't wait until the last minute to do things, either.

First suggestion: get off the computer!

I am in the exact same position (except for math homework)! What helps me, is to be rested. So I sometimes nap after school. If I can't nap because i'm staying after school, I drink water and something that has vitamin C in it to get me going. If you get any feeling that you want to do your homework, do it! It really gets you going. And when you see your math scores, that can get you motivated too because something will go off. I currently have a 65-70 in Italian so I'm planning to sit out in gym so I can just do the homework I forgot to bring home. Lets just say you're barely passing math (I don't know), if you can only do 2 homework assignments make sure math is on top of the list. Your 90 in English won't be jeopardized too much if you skip one homework assignment to bring up another class' score.

well if ur anything like me you think that grades are pointless. which in the grand scheme of life, they are. no one will care after u died if u got good homework grades, its not going to make u a better human being. however motivation comes from setting goals. its good to have immediate goals like if i do my homework i get to eat ice cream. but also long term goals like, i want to be a doctor so i need to do my homework. but remember to have lots of short term goals so that your don't lose focus and flip out. self discipline!
.laugh harder, live longer.

I do that a lot also. What I like to do is think about what I could do after I finish my homework. I like to watch One Tree Hill sometimes, and so I just try to finish my homework, so I can watch it. Or I think about going on the computer....

Just think about stuff that you want to do later on in the day...Maybe that will help.

this is just like me. just think about what would happen if you didnt do your homework! this isnt easy but all you have to do is just get up and do it and when you get to school, youll feel happy because you did it instead of getting in trouble and not doing it

im a really big procrastinater

i still need to improve on it

but, u can think of something you want...

and everytime you don't feel like doing hw, think of that item you want

Really, just do your hmwk before you do anything.

Or if that doesn't work, give yourself a "reward" for finishing your work... like watching tv, or computer, or what you like---but make sure you finish your work before you can have "free time".

If telling you this makes you sick, just try it once. and see how you feel. :)

to be honest, their is a bigger chance of pigs matting on the moon and eating ice-cream than there is of kids like us, being motivated to do work.

pls give me 10 points. ta.
