So my school has finals next week, and I am in eighth grade so I really want to do well. I am struggling in 2 subjects this year, civics and science. My civics teacher is really really strict and I try my absolute hardest on everything that we turn in but she still finds some random error and takes points off for it. The highest grade I've ever gotten on something turned in was a 90 on a homework assignment that practically everyone else got a 100 on. And for science, the course is really hard and I'm trying my hardest to get my grade up but I just don't like science (specifically we are studying biology and physics). I have As in all my other subjects, I have an 84 in science and a 73 in civics :/ is there any way that I can study for these finals and do well on them without getting stressed out a ton? My parents believe that pressuring me helps me perform better so they aren't helping at all. Any study tips would be very useful! 10 points to best answer!

P.S. my school never taught us how to take notes or study because in elementary school we weren't graded on anything (my school is K-12)

Oh wow. Finals in eighth grade? My suggestions are that you should find something to motivate you at times when you don't feel like studying. Which, in your case, is to get good grades on your final. Does your school offer after-school tutoring? Maybe, during this week, you could stay after and get some help. You could also ask your teachers. They may seem strict, but most teachers want students to do well. Find spots where you have trouble and ask for a bit of guidance.

As for your parents, find a time to talk it over, like at dinner. If you don't work best under pressure, then they should know. Explain calmly that you don't work best under pressure (If you say that you do, you're probably lying to yourself. Almost no one works well under pressure.) and that you could really use the extra study help.

Another thing, don't cram all of your studying in at once. Divide up your study time (Ex. Civics one day, Physics the next day, etc,.). I suggest planning it out chronologically. And I like to listen to music while studying or doing homework, but listen to instrumental music. I highly recommend classical music (Mozart or soft music can help you study better and keep you focused.) And try not to have sugary snacks while studying. Sugar and studying usually don't mix.

Hope this helps and good luck! :)

at the starting up each and every very last is going to be diverse. information to start up off is to pass to each and every instructor and discover out precisely what's on each and every very last and their codecs. The classes the position you've the most borderline grades are the classes to concentration maximum on. For math classes information to study is uncomplicated to do countless prepare complications, exceedingly retaking assessments, because usually the perfect will be written by technique of a similar instructor that wrote the assessments in the course of the 365 days. Any historic previous or social technology classes are merely a be counted of time spent reviewing the fabric. the most sensible element to do might want to be to reread each and every of the textual content yet that is very not likely to take position. So in case you took notes from the truly textual content and class lectures, overview that textile. again, retake and study previous assessments with the aid of the indisputable fact that is the most help finished source. And as a previous severe college pupil i got here upon that maximum of my finals were diverse and matching. So be particular you recognize all the vocabulary in English and overseas language classes. In classes including math and technology you may want to prefer to understand particular formulation and equations be particular you recognize those o.k. by technique of both memorizing or if the classification facilitates to have a cheat sheet on the perfect, be particular you spend countless time making a efficient and sensible sheet. The ting i got here upon is that making the cheat sheet is an rather useful way of studying and also you ultimately end up not utilising the sheet as a lot as you need to, in spite of the indisputable fact that it continues to be significant to have an useful one so that you recognize the thanks to truly discover the tips in case you want to in the course of the attempt. For time administration it relies upon on the guy, if you're someone who likes to sit down ad draw close some thing you need to merely take an afternoon or weekend for a topic and draw close it thoroughly by technique of spend all day studying the fabric. Then from time to time it truly is extra constructive to study the fabric over a lengthy era of time. So be particular earlier finals start up you're making a calendar that has an in intensity study plan, that has the days of the checks and then the classes you want to do the great on. The classes you want to do the great on are the classes you want to concentration the most on to entice close the fabric earlier entering the exam.

First of all, you need to sit with your parents and tell them how pressuring you just makes it way worse and tell them how nay why it makes it worse... as far as studying... the best way to remember things is to hand write them all down. so for example to remember that libel is slander that is published, you should hand write on paper, libel is slander that is published, multiple times. theres something about writing things down that helps your brain remember things. so do research on things that you homework was about and then write down big main points such as vocab words and big events and government stuff. and most important just try your absolute best. all study is, is doing research and reading things pretty much. taking notes, just write down anything that you feel could be important. and especially dates for civics related things. Also, ask your teacher for maby some kind of things that could possibly be on the test. its your teachers job to get your prepared for the test. thats what are taxes pay for.
