alright heres the poem

A PROPER PLACE
Outside my window
two tall witch-elms
green heads in the sun
and lean together
whispering
trees make the world
a proper place



ok so heres the question

how does the poet use personification in this poem? use details from the poem to support your answer.

The personification in this poem could be seen where the two trees exhibit people-like behaviour in that they purposely lean together. Another personification is that the trees whisper to each other, again another behaviour attributed to people. The lack of conjuctions like 'seem' or 'act' makes the use of figure of speech not a simile. The figure of speech is not metaphor either because the objects are not human beings given non-humanlike behaviour.
